COVID-19 Updates

September 15, 2021 ~ As we continue to follow the recommended Government and Simcoe-Muskoka Public Health guidelines to keep our guests and our employees safe, we ask that you please remain patient should services and activities take slightly longer than expected, are at reduced capacities or are unavailable. We are working hard to provide you the best possible experience and value, while adjusting to these changing guidelines.

Below you will find important information regarding operations during your stay at the Resort.

Ontario’s Enhanced COVID-19 Vaccine Certificate and Your Visit

Starting September 22, 2021, the Government of Ontario is introducing an enhanced COVID-19 vaccine
certificate system where visitors will be required to show proof of vaccination with accompanying
government-issued photo identification for the establishment to visually verify prior to accessing non-essential
indoor settings that are considered high-risk. This is a two-prong implementation process. Please visit the Government of Ontario website for full details here.

From September 22-October 21, 2021 to enter high-risk establishments proof of immunization is required in the form of:

  • Your COVID-19 vaccine receipts (paper copy or PDF copy on a mobile device)
  • Government Issued Photo ID

From October 22, 2021 onwards, Ontario COVID-19 vaccination certificates are required. The Ontario Government will provide you with a unique QR Code or you can present a printed or digital copy of the certificate, to learn more about the certificate click here.

Read below to understand where vaccination certificates are and are not required during your visit to the Nottawasaga Resort, our restaurant, aquatic and fitness centre, arena, meeting, banquet and event facilities.

Hotel Guests

  • Proof of vaccination is not required to stay overnight in the hotel or to enter common areas within the hotel. However, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination if you wish to use any of the above-mentioned amenities.
  • Proof of vaccination is not required for take-out dining, mini-putt and to utilize our outdoor establishments including our golf course, putting green, driving range, soccer field, bonfire pit, bocce court, basketball area, outdoor pool, wedding garden, nature trail, patios, or common areas.

Dining Guests

  • Proof of vaccination is required to enter our restaurant for indoor dining.
  • Proof of vaccination is not required for take-out dining outside on the pool deck.
  • Proof of vaccination is not required to pick-up takeout orders from our restaurant.

Arena & Aquatic/Fitness Facility Guests

  • Proof of vaccination is required to enter the facility.

Wedding and Conference Guests

  • Proof of vaccination is required to enter any event room or meeting space. This includes all ballrooms, boardrooms, conference rooms and breakout rooms.
  • Proof of vaccination is not required for outdoor ceremonies, receptions or events.
  • For indoor wedding receptions taking place between September 22 and October 12, 2021, a negative rapid antigen COVID-19 test taken no more than 48 hours before the event will be accepted.

Exemptions

  1. Properly doucumented proof of medical exemptions and children under age 12 will be permitted to enter settings requiring proof of vaccination.
  2. A negative COVID-19 test or recent COVID-19 infection will not enable a person to enter the above settings.

Reservations and Screening Details

Upon check-in, guests will be asked to provide their vaccination documentation along with a government issued photo id and will be subject to our screening procedures which include a series of questions regarding your health and recent travel history. The Resort team members will be wearing masks as required and our guests are required to do so in public spaces as well, as mandated by Simcoe-Muskoka Public Health. We do ask that you provide your own mask.

Should it be necessary for us to change a part of your stay, we will contact you either by phone or by email whenever possible. If you require assistance with your room reservations or have any questions regarding our policies or procedures, a member of our team can be reached at 705-435-5501.

Guests will still be required to answer the COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire. Please continue to check our website for updates and refer to the covid-19.ontario.ca website to find out what level and which Regional public measures are in place in Ontario. The Province of Ontario is currently in Step 3 of Ontario’s re-opening framework. Please read on below for how that may affect your stay.

Traveler Information

Canada is now allowing entry to American citizens and permanent residents, who are currently residing in the United States, and have been fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to entering Canada for non-essential travel.

Subject to limited exceptions, all travellers must use ArriveCAN (app or web portal) to submit their travel information. If they are eligible to enter Canada and meet specific criteria, fully vaccinated travellers will not have to quarantine upon arrival in Canada. Please review the Government of Canada website prior to traveling.

We will take reasonable precautions and observe best practices to minimize risks and to protect against the hazards presented by COVID-19. Outdoor Pool with Sun Deck:

Whether you're looking to beat the heat with a refreshing dip or soak up the sunshine, the outdoor swimming pool is a great place to spend your summer days. Enjoy splashing with the kids or explore the underwater depths of the deep end. Plenty of shaded areas are available surrounding the pool offering a comfortable spot to enjoy a good book or an afternoon snooze.

Hours: Monday-Friday: 12:00PM - 7:00PM. Saturday-Sunday: 11:00AM - 7:00PM.

Dining options can also be pre-ordered for take out on the pool deck, please call 705-435-5501, ext. 290. Outside food and beverage is not permitted.

Dining: Riverview Room Dine-In & Take Out

We're pleased to offer both dine in and takeout options to hotel guests and the public. Currently due to Step 3 restrictions, we are limited in capacity to maintain social distancing of 2 metres in our dining room. Breakfast and lunch seating times are limited to 60 minutes and dinner to 90 minutes. Face covering are required except when eating or drinking. Reservations and screening are required.

Sports & Leisure Dome: Indoor Pool, Whirlpool, Water Umbrella, Fitness Centre, Mini-Golf, Squash & Raquetball Courts

We are very happy to have reopened the Sports & Leisure Dome from 8:00am to 8:00pm daily and look forward to providing a safe and healthy recreation option to both guests and our members. We will take reasonable precautions and observe best practices to minimize risks and to protect against the hazards presented by COVID-19. The safety and well-being of our team, guess and members is our priority and as such we will be enacting the following Guidelines.

At this time the following amenities will be available: Indoor Pool, Whirlpool, Water Umbrella, Gym, Change Rooms, Mini-Golf, Raquetball & Squash Courts.

Golf Course:

We are very happy to have the Driving Range, Nottawasaga Golf Course, Ridge Golf Course and Putting Green open to provide a safe and healthy recreation option for our community. We will take reasonable precautions and observe best practices to minimize risks and to protect against the hazards presented by COVID-19.  The safety and well-being of our team and golfers is our priority and as such we will be enacting the following Guidelines.

NEW THIS YEAR: Masks are required to be worn by golfers who are not riding with a family member residing in the same household. Single rider carts may be requested but are subject to availability + an additional single rider fee.

Your Health & Safety

The health and safety of our guests and team is always our top priority at the Nottawasaga Resort. In our continued effort to provide a healthy, clean and comfortable stay, we have elevated our already thorough standards and have implemented additional procedures you can expect to see during your stay.

These new practices take into consideration recommended guidelines of our local and provincial health units and affiliated restaurant and hotel associations which allow our team to provide exceptional service in a safe environment. Protocols and guidelines will evolve and as such so may our policies and procedures.

Arrival Experience

Pre-arrival communication will be sent to each guest with a room reservation, which includes a request to self identify Covid-19 exposure with completion of questionnaire. If any identifiable risk, we ask that you postpone your travel plans until the risk period has passed. This assists in ensuring the wellbeing of all guests and associates.

Guests will also receive pre-arrival registration information to complete in advance of arrival to minimize contact upon arrival / check-in.

In accordance with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit mandatory requirements, those entering the Resort and its subsidiary buildings must wear a face mask / face covering while in public indoor spaces. Children 2 and under excluded. Those that are not able to comply may be denied service and asked to leave the premise.

Cleanliness

All common public areas and high touch areas are cleaned and disinfected frequently with Health Canada approved products that are effective in preventing the transmission of COVID-19.

Hand sanitizer stations are located in key areas throughout the hotel.

Social Distancing

Signage and distancing reminders will be used where appropriate in high traffic areas to encourage and observe social distancing and promote traffic flow where practical.

Guest Rooms

Enhanced cleaning and disinfection of guestrooms has been implemented with our housekeeping attendants using protective gloves and masks. Use of disinfectant wipes for all high-touch items, disinfectant cleaners and spray sanitizer for each guest room prior to your arrival. Increased cleaning of HVAC systems and air filters.

Removal of high touch items: iron, ironing boards, coffee maker, pens & stationary, binders and print material, etc. Items are available upon request and disinfected between each use.

Extra towels, blankets and pillows are available upon request. Daily housekeeping and turndown service have been discontinued with the exception of long term stays. In order to limit contact, guests may request service by contacting the front desk. Any guest room service will be completed without the guest present.

Guest rooms are allocated to allow for appropriate social distancing. A resting period after enhanced cleaning has been established between guests stays.

Payment

Payment can be made by credit only. Cash will not be accepted at this time.
