National Lifeguard Certification Course Starts May 4

Do you have a love of the water and you're looking to turn that passion into a career? Take the step towards becoming a lifeguard or swimming instructor with the National Lifeguard Certification Course that we're running on May 4-6 and May 11-13.

Qualified aquatic personnel are frequently in high demand and the National Lifeguard training program is designed for lifesavers who wish to obtain a responsible job and leadership experience. Through National Lifeguard training participants will develop a sound understanding of lifeguarding principles, good judgment, and a mature and responsible attitude towards the lifeguard's role.

National Lifeguard training emphasizes prevention and effective rescue response in emergencies including first aid treatment. Candidates develop teamwork, leadership and communication skills. Successful candidates are certified by the Lifesaving Society - Canada's lifeguarding experts.

You must be a minimum of 16 years of age and have Bronze Cross certification and Standard First Aid certification from one of the following: Lifesaving Society, St. John Ambulance, Canadian Red Cross, Canadian Ski Patrol. (Certification doesn't need to be current)

The course will run over two weekends, May 4-6 and May 11-13 (Fridays 6pm-10pm, Saturdays 9am-6pm, Sundays 10am-5pm) and the cost is $330 for the course. Please note attendance is mandatory on all days to obtain the certification.
